Former corporate executive Rai Glover launched Rai Glover Consulting, LLC to fulfill her lifelong passion of helping people.
During her award-winning career as a corporate executive, Rai was featured on the cover of Today’s Charlotte Woman Magazine and named “Master of Transition” due to her ability to navigate corporate America beginning at a young age.
Rai joined Citizens and Southern National Bank (predecessor to Bank of America) during her second semester freshman year in college. Having worked 23 years at Bank of America and its predecessor banks, Rai held 9 different positions including: Senior Vice President and Market Development Manager for Bank of America’s Human Resources, Regional Executive for the Bank of America Foundation – managing a team of contribution managers from New York to Florida which contributed over $35 million in direct grants to non profit organizations, Regional Employment Executive, Corporate Diversity Executive, Operations Manager, and Transition Manager for several transition efforts in Texas, Florida and Virginia.
Rai recently retired from Bank of America, becoming one of the youngest retirees under the bank’s “Rule of 60” qualifications – age plus years of service totaling 60 or greater. Rai firmly believes that God is ordering her steps.
Rai completed her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education Degrees from the University of South Carolina. She completed the South Carolina Bankers School where she served as president of her class. Rai received further certification from Duke University. She is a Woodrow Wilson Fellow and is a member of the National Speakers Association.
Rai is committed to civic involvement and responsibility. She was appointed by the House of Representatives to serve on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Community Colleges System. She also serves on the Charlotte Regional Visitors Association (CRVA) board and has served as an “Advisory Board Member,” “Board Member” or “Member” to over 30 Boards and Task Forces. She recently served as chair of the Women’s Leadership Initiative and served on the Board of Directors of the United Way
Rai’s recent honors and recognitions include a 2007 BOB (Best of the Best) award by Charlotte Magazine; 2006 Person of Prominence by The Charlotte Post Newspaper; 2006 Most Supportive Person of the Latin American Community by the Latin American Excelente Awards; 2005 Maya Angelou Women Who Lead award presented by Dr. Maya Angelou; 2005 Outstanding Leader in the Community by the National League of Cities; 2004 Excellence in Business award by Pride Magazine; and a National LEND (Leadership Excellence in Neighborhood Development) award presented by Bank of America.
Rai’s passion is Motivational Speaking and Coaching for Excellence. She has given countless speeches to corporations, colleges, universities and community organizations. She is often called upon to serve as an announcer, commentator and mistress of ceremony for galas, pageants and other events. She participates on panels and has appeared on television and radio. Rai is often referred to as “Rai of H.O.P.E.” for her Honesty, Optimism, Positivism and Excitement.
In her spare time, the married mother of two enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. She thanks God for her parents who laid a “positive” foundation for her life and the lives of her 4 older siblings. God first!
